The First Time ….., Part Sixteen

1-The First time that the Scottish National Team played an International Match abroad (outside of United Kingdom) was in a friendly vs. France at Paris on May 18, 1930 (France 0-Scotland 2).

2- The first time that a European Nation played on Argentinean soil was in a Friendly between Argentina and Yugoslavia on August 3rd, 1930 at Buenos Aires (3-1 Argentina win).

3-The first time that an African Nation defeated a European Team at the World Cup was on June 16, 1982 at Gijon when Algeria defeated West Germany (2-1).

 4- The First time that a Soviet player joined a German team wason August 2nd, 1989, when Dynamo Moscow’s Aleksandr Borodyuk joined Schalke in the West German Second Division.

5- The first time that an Algerian-born player ever played for France was in a Friendly on February 9, 1936 at Paris when Ali Benouna of Football Club de Sète 34)’ lined for France vs. Czechoslovakia (0-3 France loss).
